Psalm 2:4-5 But the one who rules in heaven laughs. The Lord scoffs at them. Then in anger he rebukes them, terrifying them with his fierce fury (NLT)
In this passage, the psalmist describes the response of the Lord towards the enemies of God’s people. His response is two fold, he laughs and he rebukes.
He laughs because he sees the futility of their activity. After all, who can stand against the Lord. He feels no worry, and the work of the enemy strikes no fear in his heart.
He rebukes because He will not tolerate the plans and schemes of the evil one. He is not an inactive observer of your trouble but an active and involved father who protects His children.
Next time you feel opposition from the evil one, consider the Lords perspective and his response. Confidence and peace will fill your heart as you remember you are not alone.
