Psalm 100:4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise his name.
As 14 Days of Breakthrough come to a close, and we prepare to enter a new season, the appropriate way to move between the two is by spending time in thanksgiving. When we start a time of pray and fasting, we often have our own agenda and ideas of what we want to happen. However, at the end of that time we often see that God had a greater agenda, a better plan. Now is the time to acknowledge that.
As we spend time in thanksgiving, going over the words we received or the breakthroughs we had, two things happen. Firstly, we start to see a plan emerge. His activity in our life was not random but rather a set up to propel us forward. And secondly, it builds our faith for the future. If he did it then, he can do it again!
When we drive a car we look forward out of the windshield. But we also, at regular intervals, need to look in the rear view mirror to see what's behind. The same is of our walk with God. We need to look forward with focus but we also need to, at regular intervals, look back to see what God did! That's what thanksgiving is!
