Ephesians 1:19-22 I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms. Now he is far above any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else—not only in this world but also in the world to come. God has put all things under the authority of Christ and has made him head over all things for the benefit of the church. (NLT)
The apostle Paul's desire was for every believer to understand the greatness of God’s power that is available for them. In this passage, he paints a picture with his words describing Jesus being seated in a place of honor. He wants you to imagine a king sitting on a royal throne. But this king is not like any other king, He is higher in positional authority than all other rulers. Not just a little bit higher but far above!
The most amazing thing about this passage comes at the end. All this authority and power was given to Jesus for the benefit of the church! The church is not a building or an organization, it is the people of God. Jesus’ authority and power was given to Him for the benefit of His people.
As you do His work, remember, you have all the power of heaven backing you up!
