Who is Jesus?

“For here is the way God loved the world—He gave his only, unique Son as a gift. So now everyone who believes in him will never perish but experience everlasting life. God did not send his Son into the world to judge and condemn the world, but to be its Savior and rescue it!”

John 3:16-17 TPT

Steps to Start your Journey

Attend Church

God created church for you to be a part of a supportive and caring community. Church is a place to grow in faith and provides an opportunity to learn about God.

Read the Bible

Prayer is simply a conversation with God. You can talk to God about your every concern, thought and desire. Like any good conversation, pay attention, because God wants to speak to you too.

Pray

The Bible isn't just another book - we believe it is the Word of God. It tells us about who God is, who we are and how to live. Everything you need to know about God and living life as a Christian can be found in its pages.

The Bible makes it clear:

We are all sinners by nature & choice.

In other words, we’ve all fallen short of God’s mark and we need saving.
Romans 3:23 “For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.”

Jesus died for our salvation.

He is our saviour even when we weren’t interested in Him.
Romans 5:8 “But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.”

Salvation is a gift that covers our sin and shame.

We can’t earn it but we can receive it.
Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.”

We receive this gift through trusting in Jesus and surrendering our life to Him.

Romans 10:9-10 “If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.”

And we can be confident that when we surrender our lives to Him that we are saved.

Romans 10:13 “For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

If you’d like to receive Jesus as your saviour, pray this prayer:

Dear God, I know that I’m a sinner. I know that my sin deserves to be punished. I believe that Jesus is the Son of God, who died for me on the cross and rose from the grave three days later. I want to turn from my sin and trust Jesus alone as my saviour. Thank you for forgiving me and giving me eternal life through faith in Jesus.

Amen
