Testimony on YouTube Open Doors to School
Late last year, we sensed a powerful call from God—a clear leading to step outside the walls of our church and directly into local schools to reach the youth.
What followed wasn't coincidence; it was divine appointment.
Right at that time, one of our ministry leaders was unexpectedly invited by a local Band 3 school to share her testimony. The invitation came after a teacher stumbled upon her story on YouTube! This initial open door quickly expanded: the school, recognizing the impact, invited our team to return and minister to their Year 10, 11, and 12 students once a month.
This is where our journey began. We started bringing "church" to them.
Every month, a team runs a dynamic 25-minute session right inside the high school. Crucially, this talk is just the beginning. Our main goal is to connect with these teenagers personally and extend a deeper invitation: join our free English lessons on Friday evenings.
The invitation is a complete evening of community: the students start with the English class, then are invited to stay back to learn an instrument during our Youth Band practice, share a meal together, and finally, stay back for our Youth Connect Group.
The Story of Michael
This is how we met Michael.
He was a youth from that local high school, and he arrived at his first English class visibly nervous, with his parents in tow. But he enjoyed the class so much that he came back the following week—and this time, he stayed back to learn a musical instrument.
Just a couple of months later, Michael was consistently staying for our Youth Connect Group. The change was remarkable: he shed his nervous demeanour and discovered a safe space where he could finally open up and be himself every Friday night.
Michael’s transformation is only one part of the story unlocked by that initial open door. Through these weekly English lessons and community connections, we’ve also witnessed three other youth give their lives to Jesus!
We are praying and believing for many more lives to be transformed as we continue to answer this call.
